Sports Betting Scandals unfortunately do happen.
Now professional sports leagues do everything within their power to
move games as far away from sports
betting
and sports betting scandals in particular as possible. Now the business
has become cleaner or simply guys work more cleanly. Who knows? But one
can tell for sure that now sports betting scandals are
inflated and get all the ballyhoo. Sports betting risks
were and remain. They have become more hidden, yet they exist.
Surely sports betting scandals do occur, but they are not that
well-known as Chicago sox scandal and Escobar case. The things were
really rotten. No one doubt that if a matter is about money there can
be problems, stinky stuff. People pay money, others play how they are
paid to.
Have you seen the film "Eight Men Out"? Even if you haven't
seen
this film, you could have see any other film depicting sports betting
bribes and scandals. In Chicago case eight players were bought to have
their own game, the game according to a previously created scenario.
They were to lose, the team lost. It was one of the most known and the
greatest sports betting scandals throughout history.
Mafia and crime families make stakes on a certain team win, put huge sports
betting wagers
and no doubt they don't want to lose the money. They want to gain more.
More money. They pay money to coaches and to players so that to achieve
the result they have been looking for.
Sports betting scandals? Let it be. But sometimes people get killed.
There was a sad sports betting scandal concerning Columbian football
player, Andre Escobar. In 1994 Colombians played against Americans and
the chances of the former were impressive, they were about winning, but
then Mr. Escobar unfortunately scored an own goal. Soon enough after
coming back to the Motherland he was killed. They say it was mafia who
did it.
There is an incredibly long list holding events when sports match
results were fixed by bettors. Much work has been done to prevent this
to happen again, and even greater work will be done in future.
